Calling all language educators! The 2023 Celebration of Teaching Conference will be held on Saturday, April 1st from 9am to 1:30 pm at Teachers College, Columbia University. This year’s theme is “Engagement and Participation in the Language Classroom”. If you would like to present a ten-minute demo lesson on this topic, or register as an attendee, please fill out this Google Form. If you would like to present a demo lesson, our CoT team will reach out with further steps. Demo lessons should exhibit effective, practical, and/or unique ways to engage every learner in a language classroom. Please see our flyer below for more information. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact teachingcelebration@gmail.com.

Our conference has a unique format. In addition to a keynote presentation from Heather Tatton-Harris, we will showcase live classroom demonstrations from current in-service educators. Each demonstration takes the form of a lesson or classroom activity, with groups of conference participants acting as students. This conference offers an amazing opportunity to experience a variety of pedagogical practices that attendees can observe and reflect on for future lesson planning.
The conference is currently scheduled to be hosted live on the Teachers College campus on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 in Zankel Hall, Room 418. The conference is free to attend. If you have any questions or need to request any accommodations for the conference, please feel free to contact us at teachingcelebration@gmail.com.
